James Wade brings over four decades of experience in education to our Saturday morning piano lessons. For most of his career he served as a school principal and teacher in schools across the country, including Pilgrim Lutheran School here in the Phoenix area.
He taught piano privately to students at several of the schools he served, and later taught at a private music academy. He also directed choirs of all ages, from preschoolers to adults, and played piano and organ to accompany school programs.
A skilled pianist and organist, James has performed in hundreds of concerts, recitals, and worship services throughout his life — performance experience that, paired with decades in the classroom, enriches his approach to teaching.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Music from Martin Luther College. He is compassionate, patient, and endlessly positive — qualities that make him a natural fit for students just starting their musical journey.
